Under expert guidance, you will master the art of safe axe use and wood selection, learning how to properly prepare your materials. From there, you will dive into fire lighting, mastering the techniques needed to nurture a flame directly from the environment. You will leave with the confidence to safely navigate tools and transform the surrounding wilderness from an unfamiliar backdrop into a resourceful home.
Sourcing the Woods: Learn to identify natural tinder, kindling, and main fuel sources.
Axe Safety & Technique: Master safe tool handling, body mechanics, and how to safely split wood.
Primitive Fire Lighting: Master the use of ferrocerium rods and traditional strikers.
Fire Management: Understand how to build, shape, feed, and maintain your fire safely.
Leave No Trace: Master the correct way to extinguish and completely conceal your fire site.
