What to Wear & Bring: Day Bushcraft Course
Clothing (Dress for the weather):
๐ฅพ Sturdy Footwear: Walking boots or sturdy trainers. Absolutely no sandals, flip-flops, or open-toed shoes.
๐ Durable Trousers: Avoid thin leggings as they offer no protection from stingers, brambles, or sparks.
๐งฅ Layers: A warm fleece or jumper. Woodlands can be much cooler than open fields.
๐ง๏ธ Waterproofs: A waterproof jacket (and trousers if rain is forecast). We run rain or shine!
Personal Gear:
๐ Small Daypack: A rucksack (20โ30L) to carry your personal belongings.
๐ง Water Bottle: Big enough to keep you going { water supplied during session ]
โ๏ธ Sun & Bug Protection: Sunscreen, a sun hat, and insect repellent (essential for woodland ticks and midges).
๐ฉน Personal Medication: Any personal medication (e.g., inhalers, EpiPens). Please note in consent form and notify the instructor upon arrival.
Note: All specialist bushcraft tools, safety equipment, and materials are provided by us.
What to Wear & Bring: Overnight Bushcraft Experience
Sleeping Gear:
โบ Shelter: can bring small tent if you like, or can use one of our supplied tarp shelter.
๐ Sleeping Bag: woodland temperatures drop significantly at night, even in summer.
๐ค Sleeping Mat: This is vital to block the cold ground.
Clothing:
๐งฆ Change of Clothes: A full spare set of dry clothes packed inside a plastic bag (to keep them dry).
๐งค Warm Hat & Gloves: Highly recommended for around the campfire at night.
Camp & Night Essentials:
๐ฆ Torch or Headlamp: Crucial for navigating camp after dark. Bring spare batteries.
๐ฝ๏ธ Camp Mess Kit: A plastic or metal bowl, mug, and spoon/spork for campfire meals.
๐งผ Wash Kit & Towel: Biodegradable soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a small travel towel.
๐ Power Bank: To keep your mobile phone charged (signal may be limited).
Note: Sharp tools (knives/saws) are provided. If you wish to bring your own bushcraft knife, it must be declared to the instructor for a safety check before use.
